Halloween wouldn't be complete without it's iconic traditions. From creating elaborate costumes to carving spooky jack-o-lanterns, these practices have deep historical roots. Costumes originally served to confuse wandering spirits, while jack-o-lanterns, cut from turnips in Ireland and pumpkins in America, were meant to ward off evil. These customs, steeped in history, create a sense of connection to our ancestors and the spirit world, making Halloween a time to embrace the supernatural.


While Halloween has deep roots in Celtic and Christian traditions, its celebration varies worldwide. In Mexico, the Day of the Dead (Dia de los Muertos) honors deceased loved ones with colorful altars and sugar skulls. In Japan, the festival Obon involves lighting lanterns to guide ancestral spirits.

These diverse customs remind us Halloween, in all of its forms, serves as a universal reminder of the connection between the living and the departed.
